Dress for Success Vancouver is dedicated to providing women with outfits suitable for the job interview process. DFS values your donations of quality, gently worn suits, tops, coats, shoes, handbags and cash to help us in our efforts to help women who are taking steps to succeed. 

Everyone wants to look great for a job interview and DFS clients are no exception. It is important to have clothing that is current, professional and well made. DFS requests that items arrive on hangers in ‘ready to wear’ condition (no garbage bags please!). DFS will provide tax receipts for dry cleaning expenses (provide your itemized receipt and home address). When donating, please ask yourself what your first impression would be if you were interviewing someone wearing the outfits that you are donating.  

DFS is always in need of the following good condition items:

• Business suits (no more than 3 years old please) 
• Purses, business cases, and umbrellas. 
• Outerwear (long and ¾ length coats – any season)
• Tailored separates:  jackets, pants and skirts
• Blouses and tops (simple neck and shoulder lines, that will fit neatly under a jacket)
• Conservative accessories: scarves, and jewelry
• Quality footwear that has hardly been worn

We are also delighted to accept unopened pantyhose, knee-highs, lingerie and grooming supplies.

Due to the volunteer workload and space restrictions we cannot accept: 

• Shorts, Jeans, T-shirts, or any other casual or denim pieces
• Evening or formal wear 
• Dated clothing (3 years old is a good rule of thumb - whatever her circumstances are – a woman should appear to understand current business styles)
• Clothing in need of repair or cleaning
• If the clothing is soiled or in poor repair – please do not donate it.
